Hunter Region Facts

The Hunter Region is located 130 kilometres north of Sydney in New South Wales, encompassing a diverse range of geographic landforms, environments, industries and population centres. It covers 31,011 sq. km. and includes 11 local government areas, Cessnock, Maitland, Port Stephens, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Great Lakes, Dungog, Gloucester, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter.
