Wellbeing Watch

A monitor of health, wealth and happiness in the Hunter Publication

Background

Wellbeing Watch is a relatively new pathway of research for the Hunter Valley Research Foundation. Launched in 2006 to coincide with the HVRF’s 50th anniversary, it aims to assess the quality of life in the Hunter, explain trends in how people live, provide an understanding of the influences on wellbeing, and identify how regional wellbeing can be improved.

This research is intended to complement other HVRF regional programs such as our economic and business monitoring programs. The information presented in the 2nd edition of Wellbeing Watch is based on the results from a community telephone survey conducted in 2007. The 2nd edition also highlights changes (where significant and meaningful) in the data collected between the first and second surveys.

The third round of data collection is scheduled to begin mid-2009.
